Today, the District Mayor Cllr Mzi Zuma, attended a Fun Run organised by Treasures of Heaven. This organisation was formed 10 years ago and focuses on empowering women who face numerous challenges like gender based violence and femicide , poverty , hunger , unemployment to cite but few examples . The Mayor made remarks before officially starting the Fun Run . Key on his remarks was to applaud the organisers of the Fun Run , Treasures of Heaven . He acknowledged the great work they have done in the last decade which mainly impacted on Northern Areas of Msunduzi Municipality. He encouraged government leaders and private sector to support this organisation and other NGOS, CBOs , FBOs which are complementing the work of government in empowering and supporting women who are facing adversity in various ways .
